Farewell

I've come to the conclusion that nobody cares what is going on around them or on this little blog, with the possible exception of Congressman Ellison's office. That alone made it worth while.

Special thanks to Charles Johnson.

Update 12/3/07: As per the previous post with update, Congressman Ellison's office is still reading, and has removed the 404 Error message previously arrived at when clicking the link from this site. Thanks to the Congressman's office for reading.

Blocked by The Fifth Congressional District

Noam Sayin' said...

Funny thing. I try to link to Keith Ellison's Web site using your link, and I get the ol' 404 not found. I can get there from any other direction but your site.

Hmm...

Thank you, Noam Sayin', and a round of thanks to Congressman Ellison and his staff for honoring this scarcely commented, infant blog.

However, I must ask a few questions here. Being that this is a Congressional website and it's being provided at tax payer expense, by what right does the Congressman's office have to block access to any of my readers? These readers may include the Congressman's constituents. In fact- I myself live in the Fifth Congressional district. By what right does the Congressman's office have to deny me access to my own Congressman? I feel this is a violation of my rights.

I'm unsure as to why this site has been targeted. It certainly isn't my fault the Congressman is a Muslim who has chosen to associate with Islamic advocacy groups with questionable affiliations. Nor is it my fault the Congressman took campaign contributions from members of these groups. And to my knowledge, no one forced Congressman Ellison to speak at their events. Repeatedly. I must conclude that speaking the truth about Congressman Ellison and his ideology is all that is needed to incur his ire.

I would also like to thank the Congressman's staff for this opening for a lesson in Shari'a- the very reason this blog is here. Concerning infidels:

As regards the people of the Book (i.e. the Jews and the Christians) who do not accept the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah (Peace be upon him and his progeny), they are commonly considered najis [unclean-ed], but it is not improbable that they are Pak. Ho wever, it is better to avoid them.

Unfortunately for him, the Congressman can't avoid me by blocking access to his site on this blog. I can access it on my search engine. The only thing this block has accomplished is to display the exact intolerance the "Islamophobes" claim you can find in Islam. Job well done, Congressman and staff. Well done.

Update 12/3/07: Congressman Ellison's office has seen fit to remove the 404 Error message. Thanks for reading, Mr. Ellison.

Disgusting Misogyny Outbreak in Saint Paul

Woman Sexually Assaulted in Hallway, Neighbors Don't Help

A security video from an apartment hallway shows at least 10 witnesses ignored a woman's cries for help for more than an hour as a man beat and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors in Minnesota said.

The surveillance video clearly showed men and women looking out their apartment doors or starting to walk down the hallway before retreating as the woman was assaulted for nearly 90 minutes, police spokesman Tom Walsh said.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Police said they responded to a call of drunken behavior and found Somali immigrant Rage Ibrahim, 25, and a woman lying unconscious in the hallway early Tuesday. The woman's clothing had been pulled up and she had fresh scratches on her face and blood on her thigh, according to the criminal complaint.

Ibrahim says he is innocent and that the incident was a misunderstanding, according to Omar Jamal, the executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, who spoke on Ibrahim's behalf.

Unfortunately for Mr. Ibrahim, American law is not Shari'a law. I imagine he'll be quite surprised to learn he'll be going to jail.

Ellison Returns From Iraq

In an interview from Germany:

Ellison told reporters that the American military is making significant progress on several fronts, and that the tide seems to have turned against Al Qaeda in critical places, according to USA Today. In Ramadi, for example, he said that American partnerships with Iraqi police and religious leaders appear to have Al Qaeda on the run:

Ellison said that local leaders in Ramadi told him of how they partnered with U.S. and Iraqi military officials to virtually rid al-Qaeda from the city. Although the lawmakers had to travel in flak vests and helmets, ‘we did see people walking around the streets of Ramadi, going back and forth to the market.’

There have been fewer anti-U.S. sermons as the violence has been reduced, Ellison said, and religious leaders meet regularly with U.S. military officials.

It will be interesting to see if follows through on these findings, or if he continues to support a policy of retreat in Iraq.

Islamic Irony Watch

Two bumper stickers viewed on a single car in Minneapolis today:

"The last time we mixed politics with religion, people were burned at the stake."

and

"Keith Ellison for Congress"

Hey Driver, you don't know much about Islam, do you?

Verse of the Day

Since it's Friday, a verse from the Noble Quran:

Those who reject Faith and do wrong,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them to any way- Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein for ever. And this to Allah is easy.

Sura 4:168-169

(That's not what I was taught about God's forgiveness.)
